Abstrakt: Remuneration policy is an element of company management. Remuneration systems should be flexible and evolutionary. They must consider not only the changes in the external environment but, most of all, the changing needs of the internal environment. In practice, this means aligning the company’s strategy and goals with the remuneration system. What is more, the remuneration policy must be consistent with all personnel substrategies, which should systematically create integrated human capital management. The aim of our research was to determine how employees perceive the appropriate structure of remuneration and how the relationships between the elements that make up the structure of remuneration are perceived. Energy sector employees were selected for the study, dividing the group of respondents by gender, age and level of education. The obtained data were submitted to multivariate correspondence analysis. The analysis of the perception map for the variables of gender, age and education, as well as the subjective assessment of the components of remuneration, allows the general assertion that both men and women believe that the amount of the fixed part of remuneration should be influenced by such elements as: work efficiency, education, seniority in the current place of employment, position in the hierarchy of the position held, as well as the level of salaries in the labor market. But people aged 60 and over with a vocational education tend to believe that the amount of the fixed part of remuneration should be influenced by collective agreements. Moreover, people aged 25–34 with higher education believe that the granting of additional benefits should not be affected by collective labor agreements.

Abstrakt: Entrepreneurs have long been convinced about the power and possibilities of the Internet. Nowadays, the Internet is an integral tool for the functioning of a company, not only as an alternative distribution channel, but also as a channel of information and communication flow, a means of interaction with the environment. The increasing use of the Internet, and especially of social media, made it possible to escalate the activity of various social groups in various areas of the company’s activity, including innovation, leading to the development of crowdsourcing. Crowdsourcing has redefined the existing production rules and ways of using labor resources. Its potential lies in openness, partnership, resource sharing and global action. There are already many studies on crowdsourcing and innovation, but little attention is paid to the relationship between crowdsourcing and the determinants of innovation activity. Thus, the aim of this research is examining whether the use of crowdsourcing while cooperating with product users in accordance with the concept of user-driven innovation (UDI) has an impact on selected aspects of innovative activity. An original questionnaire was used for the study. Fifty-seven R&D departments in Poland participated in the research. For the purpose of the analysis, the Kendall and V-Cramer tau correlation coefficient was used. These methods are complemented by the Ward agglomeration method. The research results show a cooperation with consumer results in the development of innovative activities in the studied R&D departments of enterprises in Poland. Using crowdsourcing results in the introduction of more product innovations, the introduction of new or significantly improved technological processes, as well as the implementation of a greater number of research and development projects.

Abstrakt: This paper analyses the impact of strategic sub-components of the Global Competitiveness Index (GCI) on the Logistics Performance Index (LPI). As a hypothesis, it is assumed that there is a relationship between the LPI and selected factors in GCI, which were grouped into three clusters: infrastructure, human factor, and institutions. The purpose is to investigate which of those groups has the most significant impact on the LPI - an interactive comparative analysis tool created by the World Bank that addresses logistics issues in a broad context against world regions’ development or countries’ economies. For this purpose, the LPI was used as the dependent variable, while a linear regression model measured some GCI components’ influence. The study was conducted for Africa, Asia, and the EU, employing the ANOVA method. The paper finds the three clusters are related to higher efficiency. While the new method shows these clusters are essential for improving the logistics performance index, an extensive range of factors might affect logistics sector performance in both geography and stage of development. In Europe, human factor is far more critical for progressively improving the LPI, while necessary infrastructure remains crucial in Asia. All three factors are central to Africa’s logistics development.

Abstrakt: Digital technologies integrated into port logistics are becoming increasingly decisive among port cities around the world. This growing importance is due to the need for policymakers, urban managers, port authorities, local administrators, shipping companies, couriers, and so on to develop increasingly digitalized and sustainable logistic processes. Therefore, in a global context characterized by intense datafication and globalization of trade, the data-based approach has become a necessary modus operandi to promote smart and sustainable logistics development. This forward-looking model of port logistics uses technologies such as IoT, sensors, cloud computing platforms, Big Data analytics, Artificial Intelligence (AI), GPS tracking systems, radars, drones, real-time monitoring stations, smart grids, and so on in order to collect, process, monitor and analyse data and information concerning the economic, environmental, social and technological sphere of port cities. In this sense, mobile and fixed platforms help logistics operators to optimize the management of flows (e.g., water, waste, emissions, raw materials, people, monetary investments, etc.) in an efficient and digitized manner. The study proposes a systematic literature review of the most recurring themes concerning smart and sustainable logistics initiatives within port cities in order to develop a multidimensional framework capable of holistically integrating the prevailing enabling factors (Ecosystem, Internal Organization, Data and Security, Policy and Regulation, Finance and Funding, and Digital and Technology), domains (Mobility, Environment, Economy, Telecommunications, Safety and Security, Government, and Community) and goals (Sustainable Development and Digitalization) that characterize smart and sustainable logistical development. To this end, the best practices of several pioneering port cities such as Rotterdam, Hamburg, Singapore, Los Angeles, Amsterdam, etc. implemented in partnerships with technology companies such as Cisco, IBM, Huawei and SAP were also analysed. Therefore, the results of this research show that smart and sustainable logistics initiatives in port cities: (a) have the potential to enhance the efficiency of the economic, environmental, social and technological flows; (b) increase the involvement and awareness of stakeholders such as couriers, shippers, shipping companies, citizens, port authorities, municipalities, security officers, gate and terminal personnel, and so on; and (c) provide a detailed overview of the enabling factors, domains and goals that must be activated by port cities to foster a smart and sustainable logistic transition.

Słowa kluczowe: Management of logistics processes, uncertainty structure
Abstrakt: Purpose: The aim of the study is to determine whether and how unpredictable factors impact on the uncertainty structure in the management of logistics processes. Methodology: The Delphi method was used in the first phase of the study. 40 experts in the field of logistics management, supply chain management, risk and efficiency of logistics processes were selected. In the second phase of the study, the structure of experts’ responses was analysed and the Spearman rank correlation indicators between the indicated unpredictable factors and the consequences for the management of the logistics processes were determined. Findings: During the study, unpredictable factors were identified that had the greatest impact on the structure of uncertainty in the management of logistics processes. In terms of probabilistic uncertainty, randomness was primarily indicated. In terms of stochastic uncertainty, most indications were reported for an unknown source of origin. The main sources of unpredictable factors from outside and inside the process were then identified. The most important uncertainty from the point of view of the logistics process was also determined. The uncertainty has been found to have implications for the management of the logistics process in terms of cost, time, and quality. Practical Implications: The obtained results identify unpredictable factors determining the uncertainty structure in the management of logistics processes. Respondents identified the most common internal and external sources of unpredictable factors. Additionally, uncertainty was found to have implications for the management of the logistics process in three key decision areas - cost, time, and quality. Originality/Value: The added value of the paper is the identification of the key unpredictable factors impacting on the uncertainty structure in the management of logistics processes.

Słowa kluczowe: logistics management, digital technologies, innovation, risk
Abstrakt: The emergence of digital technology is a paradigmatic historical change. As a process of transforming social engineering structures, digitization has had a ubiquitous impact on the organization of structures and business logic, as well as on economic principles and rules. The fertile ground for digital technology applications is logistics management, which manifests itself in the dynamic development of logistics 4.0. Increasingly, it is pointed out that digital technology has some distinct features that have fundamental implications for innovation. The aim of the present study is to determine the impact of the risk of implementing digital technologies for logistics management. The study was conducted using the standardized questionnaire interview method with representatives of the management of enterprises. The attempt was random. The sampling was made up of micro, small, medium, and large enterprises from the production and services sectors, having a logistics unit or a logistics division, located in the “Bisnode Poland” database. In total, 360 full interviews were carried out. For the study, we defined macro-environment, operational, functional, and microenvironment risks. The basic conclusion is that between each type of risk and the type of digital technologies used in the studied entities and their partners in the supply chain, there is a high and very high dependence in the case of three-dimensional printing (3D printing), artificial intelligence, blockchain, drones, augmented reality, and self-propelled vehicles.

Abstrakt: W artykule przedstawiono wyniki systematycznego przeglądu literatury dotyczącej problematyki wsparcia logistycznego działalności gospodarczej. Dokonano próby zdefiniowania pojęć wsparcia logistycznego i potencjału wsparcia logistycznego, jednocześnie porównania zakresu znaczeniowego tych pojęć z pojęciem zabezpieczenia logistycznego. Autorzy trwają bowiem w przekonaniu, iż w ekonomii pozytywnej weryfikatorem prawdziwości twierdzeń jest obiektywizm poznawczy badanej rzeczywistości logistycznej, w celu dokonania opisu związków i zależności pomiędzy potencjałem a wsparciem logistycznym.

Abstrakt: Background: Warehouse Production management systems now require IT aspects which can be automated, so that processes can be easily reviewed. During our research, we analyzed four and a half years of database and machine stock of 3 food companies. We have found that companies in this industry prefer process-based production. It is important that manufacturing companies pay close attention to the proper design of automation, the purpose of which is to acquire and maintain a competitive advantage through the efficient, rapid manufacture of products. The expansion of industrial robots has increased considerably (Figure 4.), increasing the productivity, accuracy and flexibility of manufacturing processes, and has enabled a number of business processes to be re-established and new business models brought to life. Methods: The two best time-oriented methods, the PERT and CPM analysis, were used to assess the individual stages of the production, which made estimates for the duration of the activities. When drawing the box graph, we extracted outlying data from the data set, so we obtained a more accurate statistical stimate. Using this, we made a recommendation for the expected completion of workflows, which is more accurate in determining delivery dates for sales orders. Analyzing the four-and-a-half year dataset, we determined, by using Student’s t-test, that the average of the sample elements in reality is different from the estimates we made. The PERT and CPM methods have proventhemselves in the past decades and continue to be of great value. The ever-changing business world and the high cost have an impact on the economy. Results: The production times of individual companies are influenced by the use of more modern machines and well-developed manufacturing plans and schedules. Using PERT and CPM methods, we’ve helped to better define production time, making it easier to calculate delivery dates correctly. Automation does not stop all occupations, but only triggers certain activities and redefines jobs. There is no doubt that the technological development of manufacturing processes will change the organization of the industries concerned and affect the geographic location of each activity. There is a serious chance that the production of these products will go elsewhere to save on shipping costs. Conclusions: During our analysis, we have found that new technologies have an impact on productivity, employment and the transformation of the geographic structure of value-added activities, that’s why their role is important both for food companies and companies operating in other industries. Automation is made possible by scientific achievements and technological advances that are used to develop industry 4.0 technologies. The huge amount of data produced in the Intelligent Production Systems (Big Data) analysis and on this basis, the continuous modification of production systems, results in significant material and labor saving, efficiency gains and productivity gains, which have an impact on employment and the transformation of geographic structures. Food processing and delivery to consumers is a key factor in the security of food supply, and therefore has an essential importance in the further development of the sector.
