Abstrakt: An increasing number of devices and their communication with each other generates huge amounts of data. The efficiency of processing such large and heterogeneous data is crucial for extracting the reliable and consistent information that is needed for the effective management of smart cities within the field of transport. Data heterogeneity and volume as well as its integration and analytics are big challenges for decision-makers. The development of urban agglomerations is largely dependent on the proper management of such data. Therefore, this paper explores the role of these data repositories, their acquisition from different sources, and the ways to combine them. The main goal of this paper is to propose a concept of Smart City management based on Big Data Analytics and technology related to UAVs (Unmanned Aerial Vehicle) which may reduce costs and resource consumption. The presented concept includes successive data generation and collection, data type identification, problem and requirement identification, filtering, classification, pre-processing, and data optimization, as well as decision support analysis. A key part of this analysis utilizes computer algorithms, such as Speeded Up Robust Features (SURF) and Thresholding and Blob detection, to develop a multi-camera image recognition system for freight transport management and logistics in smart cities. The objective is to design a system that optimizes the route planning and time of vehicle passage on selected road sections, ultimately leading to the reduction of emissions. During the study, data obtained from multiple sources were compared, and the analysis uncovered different results for the same assumptions. We discuss the reasons for these variances. Overall, the results obtained in the analysis indicated that it is necessary to correct the predictions of the multi-camera image recognition system with additional methods and algorithms.

Abstrakt: This study focuses on management ways within a city multi-floor manufacturing cluster (MFMC). The application of MFMC in megapolises is closely related to the problem of urban spatial development and the problem of matching transport and logistics services. The operation of the MFMC depends on the efficiency of production and transport management considering technical, economic, end environmental factors. Therefore, conditions affecting decision-making in the field of production planning by MFMCs and accompanying transports within the agglomeration area with the use of the production-service platform were presented. Assumptions were created for the decision model, allowing for the selection of partners within the MFMC to execute the production order. A simplified decision model using the Hungarian algorithm was proposed, which was verified with the use of test data. The model is universal for material flow analysis and is an assessments basis for smart sustainable supply chain decision-making and planning. Despite the narrowing of the scope of the analysis and the simplifications applied, the presented model using the Hungarian algorithm demonstrated its potential to solve the problem of partner selection for the execution of the contract by MFMC.

Słowa kluczowe: safety, smart driver assistance systems, active and passive safety system, innovative safety systems, Lane Keeping Assist Systems
Abstrakt: Purpose: The article discusses the safety systems implemented in road vehicles, their impact on the driving of a car by the driver as well as the related risks and problems. Design/Methodology/Approach: The proper study was focused in the field of smart driver assistance systems. The article uses the methods of source analysis, descriptive analysis and the method of deduction. Findings: The problem of accidents is not directly related to the safety systems used in vehicles, but can be solved by them. Vehicle-mounted solutions often save lives and reduce accidents. However, it should be remembered that they will not replace the driver in the decision-making process for now. Practical Implications: The results of this study can be used as a starting point for further analysis in the area of the safety systems implemented in road vehicles, their impact on the driving of a car by the driver as well as the related risks and problems. Originality/value: From mid-2022, all brand new cars entering the EU market will have to be equipped with advanced safety systems. The authors of the article focus on the question of how the use of smart driver assistance systems improves the safety of all road users.

Abstrakt: Nowadays, it is practically impossible to find a public place, where a person or object would not be under constant camera observation (mainly used to monitor traffic and to increase safety). Interpretation of such repositories, due to the huge amount of data, is not an easy task. Thus there is a need to introduce an intelligent processing systems that, through algorithmic image analysis, are able to detect e.g. situations worth of attention. The article presents methods of data acquisition from cameras mounted on unmanned aerial vehicles (UAV) and their further analysis, which may be used to improve urban transportation systems and its sustainability. The worked out data concern the situation of urban transport in points of intersection of national and local roads. The analysis of the road traffic concerning local road restoration, causing road closure was achieved using image processing and analysis algorithms. The data was obtained from unmanned aerial vehicle flights in critical city locations. Result of this paper may be used in the future together with the data from existing intelligent transportation systems (a fusion of such data will be needed). The application of used methods will allow to extend and support the existing approaches to manage public and freight transport in cities.

Abstrakt: A city as a system that constitutes one of the most important areas of human activities. The significant role to fulfill their expectations pay the goods transport and deliveries. These issues are the subject of urban logistics. In broad terms, urban logistics may be construed as a number of processes focused on freight flows, which are completed in cities, including deliveries, supply, goods transfer, services, etc. Due to the different urban logistics stakeholders’ expectations, these systems generate many challenges for managers, especially in the context of city users’ needs and their quality of life. Today, there is a lack of broadened approach and methodology to support them from the processes’ efficiency perspective. To fulfill this gap, the purpose of this paper is to apply the Six Sigma method as a support in last mile delivery management. Six Sigma method plays important role in production systems processes management. However, it could be useful in much wider perspective, including transport and logistics processes. The Authors emphasize that the Six Sigma method could be efficient approach in the last mile delivery processes’ analysis in the context of their efficiency. It helps positioning the customer satisfaction level and quantify the delivery processes defects, related to the undelivered goods. Following that it could improve significantly the last mile delivery processes efficiency. The concept is illustrated by a sample evaluation of one of the urban logistics processes: completion of deliveries. To this end, urban logistics processes were defined. In particular, the delivery completion process was mapped, and the process client was defined along with their expectations. The defects that occurred in the process were identified and analyzed. A DPMO (Defect per Million Opportunities) indicator was established for three randomly selected months. In addition, a root cause analysis of errors was performed. The sigma level for the studied process ranged from 2.61 to 2.89. The factor that had the greatest impact on the number of defects defined as failed deliveries was customer’s absence. The obtained results indicate that the delivery process should be examined in more detail.

Tytuł: Integrated quality assessment of services in an adaptive expert system with a rule-based knowledge base
Autor/Autorzy: Tomasz Dudek, Bożena Śmiałkowska
Miejsce publikacji: Transportation Research Procedia
Rok: 2019
Słowa kluczowe: Quality assessment, Ontologies, Knowledge base
Abstrakt: One of the basic tasks of companies providing services is care for their quality. The quality of services is not only demonstrated by the requirements of service users, but also by applicable industry standards, specifications, economic and financial conditions. The process of quality assessment require knowledge about the quality measures (expressed in numerical form or as a text description). Acquiring that knowledge is the most significant step to quality assessment. The article presents architecture of expert systems used to explain and asses that knowledge with a rule-based knowledge base (built with integration of data text analysis modulatory methods and rule-based exploration of numerical data). Such databases, with additional ontology integration methods, are more adaptable to new quality measures and data sources. Expert systems form quality standards and a reference to the quality assessment forecast.
